Music Library Weekend

We’re opening up the Music Library this weekend.  Our 60-hour playlist has no repeats, and there are many tracks that haven’t been heard on SCR in weeks or even months.  We want to make sure you know just how much variety we have for you, to give you a chance to tell us if you like a track or if you don’t.  Please use the thumbs up or down ratings liberally this weekend, so that next week’s playlist contains more of the music you want to hear.

It’s a Playin’ Favorites Weekend

This weekend we’ve taken your track ratings and assembled a playlist that contains your favorite classic rock music, and ONLY your favorites.  Every track this weekend has had at least one thumbs-up rating in the past 30 days, with no negative votes.  I had fun putting together the playlist, since almost every song you’ve rated thumbs-up is also one of my favorites, so I’m going to enjoy listening this weekend as much as I hope you do.  When we have a Playin’ Favorites weekend, that’s just what we do!

Welcome New Listeners

You’ve found Sunshine Classic Rock, your internet home for the best in Classic Rock hits and album cuts from the Psychedelic ’60’s to the new music ’90’s, with emphasis on the bands and artists you remember from the heyday of album-oriented rock. We specialize in Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, but you’ll hear Southern rock, arena rock and even some new wave.

Right now our playlist includes only about half the full SCR music library, featuring those tracks that regular listeners have rated the highest. Please feel free to add your ratings, so we can adjust the 40-hour playlist to make sure we emphasize your favorites and remove the tracks you don’t like.

Opening Up the Music Library

We have about 800 total songs in the SCR Music Library.  At any one time, only about 500 are in the playlist.  Most of the rest get circulated in and out of the playlist from time to time, based on listener track ratings.  For this weekend, we’ve decided to play everything we’ve got.  We can’t guarantee you’ll like everything you hear, but that’s what the track ratings are for.  On the other hand, there may be some gems in there that just need the light of day to find an audience.  So this weekend, from 6 pm EDT Friday to 6 am on Monday morning, we’re playing our entire 60-hour Music Library playlist, with absolutely no repeat tracks.   Feel free to go at us with your ratings, and we’ll see what happens!  It’s the SCR no-repeat Music Library weekend.  Enjoy!

Master of our Domain

Sunshine Classic Rock now has a new web home.  We’re still streaming via Live365, and you can still use our station page there or the presets on your Radio365 player to reach us, but we now have our own Internet domain and, for now, a minimal web page that we will be improving as we go along.  Check it out:  http://www.sunshineclassicrock.com

In the meantime, we’ll keep cranking out those classic rock favorites…this week’s playlist is more than 500 songs, including double-slotting of the tracks you’ve rated tops, so there’s a better chance of hearing songs you’ve voted for.  And a weekend preview…we’re opening up the music library and playing EVERY song we’ve got, with no repeats from Friday night to Sunday midnight.
