Happy holiday weekend!
July 4, 2008More Music Weekend
May 24, 2008We’re live and ad-free for the holiday weekend. We’re also opening up the library of “reel” interesting station breaks. Enjoy!
It’s the NEW Sunshine Classic Rock!
March 5, 2008Notice the difference? TRUE CD quality sound, more variety, more tracks from your favorite classic rock artists, a longer playlist. The NEW Sunshine Classic Rock is now streaming at 128 kbps, thanks to Live 365’s changes allowing higher quality sound. There are lots of new tracks in the longer playlist, thanks to Live 365 giving us more storage space for more great songs. The downside is that there is no more access for dial-up users, and if you are one of those, please let us know. If there are enough of you, we can look at a lower speed stream you can still listen to.
This is the NEW Sunshine Classic Rock…let us know what you think of the changes by adding your comments.
Playin’ Favorites Again
February 13, 2008We’re back now to a more abbreviated playlist, featuring 400 tracks that you’ve rated tops from the full SCR Music Library. The highest rated tracks are double-slotted in the playlist, so you will hear them more often (but these top-rated tracks will repeat only every fifteen hours or so, otherwise it’s no repeats for your workday).
Next week we’ll be doing a Back to Back playlist, with double shots of your favorite classic rock artists. And remember, your feedback on SCR is as close as adding a post to this blog thread or sending us an e-mail telling us what you like and what you don’t. And thanks again for listening to Sunshine Classic Rock!

THE SOPRANOS
The role of music is an important one on the HBO television drama The Sopranos. The show has received considerable critical attention for its effective use of an eclectic array of previously recorded songs. Stylistically, the music on the show can range from mainstream pop (Britney Spears, The Bangles) to ’60s British rock (The Kinks, The Rolling Stones) to classic jazz and soul (Ella Fitzgerald, Ben E. King) to hip-hop (Xzibit, Time Zone), often within the span of a single episode. (A3 signals the start and end of each Sopranos track on the Jersey Channel)
OTHER ARTISTS WITH JERSEY CONNECTIONS
* Frank Sinatra
* Patti Scialfa (Mrs. Boss)
* Connie Francis
* Count Basie, who collaborated on several albums with Sinatra

A New Year, More of your favorite Classic Rock
January 1, 2008That’s that we’ve planned for Sunshine Classic Rock this year. We’ll continue to add a few new tracks each month, and you’ll still hear fresh playlists constantly updated according to your track ratings. Like a song? Give it a thumbs up. Don’t like a song? Thumbs down lets us know. Each week’s playlists are based on your ratings. Tracks rated high get played more often, and tracks rated low get played less. Help us keep Sunshine Classic Rock as your place for the music you want to hear!
Happy New Year!
December 24, 2007Happy Holidays. Thanks for listening to SUNSHINE CLASSIC ROCK!
Thanks, Listeners…
October 30, 2007…for rating the tracks you hear on Sunshine Classic Rock. Each time a track gets a thumbs-up or thumbs-down rating, it tells us what you want to hear, and what you don’t like. Each week when we put the Top Tracks Sunday morning show together, we also make a new playlist for the coming week. The Top Tracks get placed twice in the playlist, so you hear the songs you like more often (though usually at least 12-15 hours apart). The tracks you rate low either get dropped from that week’s playlist or (if we like the song anyway) will only get played once every 30 hours or so. Each week’s playlist has more than 400 tracks, and you help us decide what goes in once, what goes in twice, and what stays out. Please keep helping us put together playlists with the tracks you want to hear by voting when you like a song and when you don’t. Thanks!
DJ’s Choice debuts Saturday
September 14, 2007Here’s another new weekend show…DJ’s Choice runs from 10 EDT to 2:30 pm on Saturday and features MY favorites…some of them are among your highest rated tracks, but a lot of them aren’t. However, since I’ll be listening, I’m going to play what I like and hope that you’ll like them too. DJ’s Choice debuts tomorrow morning…see you then!
‘Millions’ rush for Zeppelin gig
September 13, 2007From the BBC:
An estimated 20 million people rushed to register for tickets to see Led Zeppelin as soon as the band announced their reunion, promoters have said. The remaining members of the legendary rock group will play a one-off show at the 20,000-capacity O2 arena in London on 26 November, they said on Wednesday.
The concert’s website has struggled to cope with demand, and organisers have asked fans to be patient.
Registration for the £125 tickets closes at midday BST on Monday.
Tickets for the show will be allocated by public ballot – a move promoter Harvey Goldsmith hopes will deter touts.
